The GAZ-3307 ( Russian ГАЗ-3307 ) is a truck made by the Soviet / Russian vehicle manufacturer Gorkovsky Avtomobilny Sawod . The model was developed in 1989 on the basis of the GAZ-53. Under the designation GAZ-3309, there is a variant of the vehicle with an extended wheelbase and modified engine. The GAZ-3308 is the all-wheel-drive version that is also used militarily. More than 1.5 million GAZ-3307 were built, and in January 2020 production stopped after 31 years. A successor has been produced with the GAZon NEXT since 2014 .
description
In October 1989, GAZ launched the new GAZ-3307 model, which had a V8 petrol engine, a new cabin and the chassis from its predecessor, the GAZ-53. The following year, the derivative models GAZ-33075 and GAZ-33076 appeared, both of which have the SMS-513 engine. In the GAZ-33075, this engine was equipped with LPG drive and the GAZ-33076 with natural gas drive, but both models are able to burn gasoline with at least 80 octane at the same time .
In 1994 the GAZ-3309 was presented. This truck has an extended wheelbase and a four-cylinder diesel engine with cylinders arranged in line. Japanese supplier engines and six-cylinder diesel engines were also occasionally installed. In 1999 the GAZ-3310 "Waldai" was developed based on the chassis of the GAZ-3307. Around 2007, a variant with a revised design based on the GAZ-3309 was presented; the vehicle is called "Dobrynja" ( Russian Добрыня ). It is unclear whether series production took place.
The successor to the GAZ-3307 is the GAZon NEXT , which was presented in 2014 and has been in series production since then. The GAZ-3307 was no longer available from the manufacturer in the vehicle range from around 2016, but was still available to order. The GAZ-3309, on the other hand, was offered unchanged. In January 2020, production of both models was discontinued in favor of their respective successors.
Many other models were manufactured over the course of the 31-year production period, which were identified by digits appended to the basic designation GAZ-3307. In the case of special bodies, the typing was completely deviated from. A total of 1.5 million units were built, including at least 900,000 for the Russian market. On the basis of the GAZ-3307, the KAwZ-3976 bus was also manufactured, which in particular took over the chassis and part of the body. The engine was also installed in different variants of the GAZ-3307.
