The Galerie in der Schmiede is a gallery for contemporary art in Pasching near Linz .

History and gallery program

In 1992 Christine Stieger opened the gallery on the premises of her parents' house, a former farrier and wagon smithy on Dörnbacherstraße in Pasching ( Linz-Land district ). This has an exhibition area of ​​around five hundred square meters, which is divided into several rooms and offers space for individual and group presentations in the areas of graphics, painting and sculpture. Classical positions of Austrian modernism are offered, with a focus on art after 1945, graphics, paintings from the 20th and 21st centuries, selected artists from the regional art scene and curated themed exhibitions, supplemented by works by convincing young artists from Germany and abroad. The gallery is regularly present at art fairs , including the Linz Art Salon, Art Austria in the Leopold Museum , Vienna, Art & Antique in the Hofburg and Art Salzburg, Salzburg Residence .
