Gaulnhofen is a district of the municipality Rohr in the district of Roth in Middle Franconia .

geography

A nameless stream rises south of the hamlet , which is a right tributary of the Schwabach . The place was originally in the middle of a closed forest area that extended south of Rohr. Today the forest area "Im Biersteig" borders in the northeast, the forest area "Im Steinbassing" lies in the northwest. The corridor area "Stückfeld" lies in the southeast. A community connecting road leads to Kitschendorf (2.2 km south) or to Rohr to state road 2239 (1.8 km north), another community connecting road leads to Prünst (1.9 km east).

history

The place was conveniently located on an old road that was laid out at the time of the Carolingians and led from Roßtal to Höfstetten . In the year 1300 the place was first mentioned in the Salbuch of the Hochstift Eichstätt as "Gaulenhouen". The place name has the personal name of the founder Gulo as a defining word. At that time the place was largely deserted. One property was subordinate to the Lords of Heideck , with which Nuremberg patricians were later enfeoffed. In 1407 only one farm is recorded which was subordinate to the Abenberg caste office in Eichstätt . In 1671 there were 5 properties in Gaulnhofen, one of which was subordinate to the Abenberg caste office and four to the imperial city of Nuremberg . In 1732 there were still 5 properties in Gaulnhofen, according to the descriptions of the Oberamts by Johann Georg Vetter , of which 2 properties were subordinate to the Schwabach caste office , 1 property to the Abenberg caste office and 2 properties to the state alms office of the Imperial City of Nuremberg.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 5 properties and a community shepherd's house in Gaulnhofen. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach . The caste office Schwabach held the village and community rulership. The landlords were the caste office in Schwabach (1 half yard, 1 Köblergut ), the caste office in Abenberg (1 whole yard), the state alms office of the imperial city of Nuremberg (1 whole yard) and the Nuremberg owner of the landlord (1 three-quarter yard ).

As part of the municipal edict, Gaulnhofen was assigned to the Rohr tax district , Section II , in 1808 . It belonged to the rural community of Prünst formed in 1818 . On May 1, 1978 Gaulnhofen was incorporated into Rohr as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
