Headlights ( Engl. "Headlights") is a song of the German DJ Robin Schulz in cooperation with the California singer-songwriter Ilsey. The track is the first single from his second studio album Sugar .
Creation and artwork
The song was written by Eric Frederic, Ilsey Juber, Joe London, Tom Peyton, John Ryan, Andreas Schuller and Robin Schulz. The latter produced the single. Mixing and mastering was done by the German production team Junkx (consisting of: Dennis Bierbrodt, Jürgen Dohr and Guido Kramer). The single was released under the music labels Tonspiel and Warner Music Group . On the black and white held cover the maxi-single - alongside artist name and song title - Schulz's upper body, which is surrounded by five yellow circles to see.
Publication and promotion
Headlights was first published as a digital publication on April 3, 2015. A physical sound carrier was released three weeks later on April 24, 2015 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland . The maxi single is available as a 2-track single and contains, in addition to the radio version, an “extended version” of headlights as a B-side .
In order to promote the song, a live appearance in prime time followed during the Echo Awards 2015 , where Robin Schulz and Ilsey appeared together for the first time live on German television during a Schulz medley .

Music video
The music video for Headlights premiered on April 3, 2015 on YouTube . The video shows women and men of different ages in a disused swimming pool. Among other things, people dance in empty swimming pools , slide down dry water slides or shower in dust . Schulz can only be seen briefly during the video. In the end, Schulz meets a woman who is waiting for him with a red Toyota Aygo . The total length of the video is 3:49 minutes. Directed by Kronck. To date, the video has over 164 million views on YouTube (as of November 2018).
