Henrik von Eckermann (born May 25, 1981 in Nyköping ) is a Swedish show jumper .

Career

Henrik von Eckermann was born in Sweden on May 25, 1981. After graduating from a business school, he devoted himself to riding.

From 2004 to 2016, von Eckermann was employed as a rider at Ludger Beerbaum in Riesenbeck . He started there with the training of young horses and presented the offspring in show jumping competitions. In addition to his work for Beerbaum, von Eckermann rides in the Swedish squad, where he competed in tournaments such as the CHIO 2008 in Aachen . During his first participation in a continental championship, he and Montender , the former championship horse of Marco Kutscher , as part of the Swedish team, achieved eighth place in the team ranking of the European championships in 2009.

Von Eckermann achieved his biggest individual success to date at the European Championships in 2011 when he finished fifth in the individual ranking with Coupe de Coeur . Henrik von Eckermann has also been one of the most successful riders at the Bundeschampionat in recent years (2006 5-year-olds with Captain Fire , 2009 3rd place 6-year-olds with Echt Stark , 2011 2nd place 5-year-olds with Forchello and 2011 1st place 6 year olds with Toulouse ).

At his first Olympic Games, which he played in 2012 with However , he reached the 23rd place in the individual ranking. At the end of 2012 he won the World Cup in Mechelen with Gotha .

At the European Championships in 2013 he won the bronze medal with the Swedish team, and he also took part in the World Equestrian Games in 2014 and the European Championships in 2015 . The 2016 Olympic Games, in which he competed with Yajamila , he finished with a similar result as four years earlier.

As of September 2016, von Eckermann has been self-employed, leasing a stable wing in Wachtberg- Niederbachem near Bonn.

In July 2015, von Eckermann was 11th in the show jumping world rankings.
