Rolf Herricht
Rolf Oskar Ewald Günter Herricht (born October 5, 1927 in Magdeburg , † August 23, 1981 in Berlin ) was a German actor , comedian , musical and pop singer. He was part of the comedian duo Herricht & Preil .
Life
Rolf Herricht spent his childhood in Magdeburg . After a short front-line deployment in World War II as an anti-aircraft helper and after taking the notabitur , he became a prop master and stage manager at the Magdeburg theater at the age of 18 . At the same time he completed private acting training at the drama studio. As an actor, he initially worked at theaters in Salzwedel , Stendal , Staßfurt , Güstrow and Frankfurt (Oder) at the local Kleist Theater . The director of the Magdeburg Theater, Heinz Isterheil, brought Herricht back to Magdeburg, where he worked from 1957 to 1961. However, he was best known as an actor in various DEFA film and television productions . Herricht was part of the GDR television ensemble . From 1964 he was engaged at the Metropol-Theater Berlin .
Herricht achieved enormous popularity in the GDR through the sketch partnership with Hans-Joachim Preil . The two met for the first time in 1951 in Bernburg , their first joint performed sketch ( Die Schachpartie ) followed in 1953. Until Herricht's death in 1981, Herricht and Preil performed skits together that Preil wrote for almost three decades. Preil himself took on the instructive role and Herricht played the naive, whose outraged objection “But, Mr. Preil!” Became almost legendary. Herricht and Preil were a popular comedian duo in the GDR.
In the DFF -Revue Evenings in the Spotlight (1981) he could be seen alongside Dorit Gäbler , Lili Ivanova and Helena Vondráčková .
Herricht received the GDR Art Prize twice , on May 17, 1973 and May 13, 1977.
Another sketch partnership that has become a legend is that between Herricht and Helga Hahnemann . Especially as a couple in the Maxe Baumann TV games and in collaborations with Ein Kessel Buntes and Helga's Top (p) -Musike , both were very popular.
Herricht's early death prevented an even more intensive collaboration. Rolf Herricht was a chain smoker and died of a heart attack on stage at the age of 53 during a performance of Kiss Me, Kate at the Berlin Metropol Theater . Herricht found his final resting place (grave no. F-1-40) in the French cemetery in Berlin.
His written estate is in the archive of the Academy of Arts in Berlin.
Personal
Rolf Herricht was seen privately as a reserved, closed and melancholy personality. He was married to Christa Herricht since 1968. In 1969 the daughter Dana was born. A close friendship connected him with Gerd E. Schäfer .

Quotes
"Just trust - everything will be fine!"
"But, Mr. Preil!"
“It is not important to me to get 'serious', because I consider it an important and beautiful task to give pleasure. People become more beautiful when they laugh. Your eyes get a different glow when they are happy. "
