Lucie Hrstková-Pešánová (born July 16, 1981 in Valašské Meziříčí ) is a former Czech ski racer . Her strongest disciplines were giant slalom and super-G . She won two medals at Junior World Championships and six medals at Winter Universiades and took part in three Olympic Games and six World Championships . In the World Cup Hrstková from 1998 to 2010 was started. She studied at Masaryk University in Brno and was trained by her father Ivan Hrstka.

biography

Hrstková competed in her first FIS races in December 1996 and was able to win two FIS giant slaloms at the end of January 1997. One month later she took part in the 1997 Junior World Championships in Schladming and achieved 26th place in the giant slalom as her best result. In March of the same year, the then 15-year-old became Czech champion in giant slalom for the first time . By 2010 another 13 championship titles followed in all disciplines. In December 1997 Hrstková took part in their first three European Cup races in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and already reached 14th place in the Super-G. In January 1998 she came in the top ten in the Rogla giant slalom for the first time in a European Cup race, shortly afterwards she was able to successfully defend her Czech championship title in giant slalom and also became Super G champion for the first time. In February, the then 16-year-old was the only Czech woman to take part in the alpine competitions of the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano . She reached 15th place in the combination , 31st in the downhill and 35th in the Super-G. In the slalom and in the giant slalom, she failed in the first round. Two weeks after the Olympic Games, she won the bronze medal in giant slalom at the 1998 Junior World Championships in Megève .

From the 1998/99 season Hrstková also started in the World Cup . However, she never got into the points in the first few years. Her best European Cup result this winter was tenth place in the giant slalom in Rogla. In February 1999 she took part in a world championship for the first time in Vail / Beaver Creek and was the best Czech woman in 24th place in the giant slalom and 29th in the Super-G. At the Czech championships she remained without a title this time. In the slalom and giant slalom, she was second behind Eva Kurfürstová . At the Junior World Championships in 1999 , fifth place in the giant slalom was her best result. The 1999/2000 season was not quite as successful as in previous years. In the European Cup she only came in the points once with 29th place in the giant slalom in St. Sebastian and at the Junior World Championships 2000 her best result was 15th place in the Super-G. As in the previous year, she remained without points in the World Cup. But she was able to win the giant slalom again at the Czech championships. The following winter, the Czech achieved her best results in the European Cup, finishing sixth and fourth in the two giant slaloms in Krompachy-Plejsy on February 18 and 19, 2001. At the Junior World Championships in Verbier in 2001 , she won the silver medal in giant slalom behind the Swiss Fränzi Aufdenblatten and at the World Championships held at the same time in St. Anton am Arlberg , she was 28th in giant slalom and 38th in Super-G. At the Czech Championships in 2001 she won the giant slalom and the Super-G. In the World Cup, however, she remained without points at her seven season starts.

On January 19, 2002, Hrstková reached 23rd place in the giant slalom in Berchtesgaden, her first result in the World Cup points and at the same time her best result in a World Cup race. At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , her only result was 25th place in the Super-G. She achieved her best result of the season in the European Cup with 13th place in the giant slalom in Arosa and in March she became Czech champion in Super-G for the third time. In the 2002/03 season, Hrstková only took part in two World Cup races and again remained without World Cup points, in the European Cup she only finished once (tenth place in the giant slalom of Piancavallo) among the top 30. The 2003 World Championship in St. Moritz . Here she remained without result after failures in slalom and giant slalom. The 2003/04 season was also not very successful. In the European Cup she only got one point in the points and in the World Cup she was not at the start in any race. In the winter of 2004/05 she was only able to score once in the European Cup and at her only World Cup start she did not qualify for the second round. On the other hand, she achieved great success at the Winter Universiade in Innsbruck . She came in the top three in all competitions and won gold twice in the Super-G and in the combination, once silver in the downhill and twice bronze in the slalom and giant slalom. At the 2005 World Cup she achieved her best World Cup result with 17th place in the combination. In addition, she was 25th in the giant slalom and 27th in the Super-G.

On December 22, 2005, Hrstková came in 30th place in the slalom of Špindlerův Mlýn for the second time in a World Cup race in the points. In the European Cup, her best result in the 2005/06 season was 20th in the La Plagne slalom . At the 2006 Winter Olympics , she finished 22nd in the combination and 36th in the Super-G. In slalom and giant slalom, she did not finish. In the 2006/07 season, Hrstková's best European Cup result was 17th in the Super Combined in St. Moritz, and in the World Cup she just missed the points with 32nd place in the Super Combined on the Reiteralm . At the 2007 World Cup in Åre , she achieved 25th place in the super combined and 29th place in the super G. In the team competition, she and her teammates came in ninth among the eleven participating nations. At the Czech championships in 2007, after five years without a title, she won the giant slalom for the fifth time and the slalom for the first time. The 2007/08 season ended for Hrstková in January due to an injury. As the best European Cup result she achieved a 16th place in the slalom of Zoldo Alto . After a knee operation, she returned to racing in December 2008. However, she succeeded in the 2008/09 season neither in the European nor in the World Cup a countable result. At the 2009 World Championships in Val-d'Isère , she was only ranked 20th in the super combination. At the Czech championships in 2009 she won the slalom, the giant slalom and the super combined and at the Universiade in China she won bronze in the super G.

At the beginning of the 2009/10 season, Hrstková competed in some European Cup races, in which, however, they could only classify for 50th place. In January 2010 she won a total of nine FIS races in the Czech Republic. She finished her last World Cup race, the super combined in St. Moritz on January 29, 2010, in 41st and last place. At the World Cup final in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , however, she started in the team competition , which she won together with Šárka Záhrobská , Ondřej Bank and Kryštof Krýzl . In March 2010 Hrstková became Czech champion in slalom and super-G as well as runner-up in giant slalom and super combined. After the season she announced her retirement from ski racing.
