Humberto Gatica (* 1951 in Rancagua ) is an American record producer, sound engineer and arranger.

The nephew of the singers Arturo and Lucho Gatica traveled to the USA at the age of seventeen and initially took on various odd jobs in Los Angeles. When his uncle Lucho came to town in 1973, he introduced him to the sound engineer Val Valentin , who worked at MGM Records . This gave him the opportunity to gain experience in the field of record production as an assistant. After the dissolution of MGM Records in 1975 he worked independently for various labels. In 1978 he met the Canadian pianist and budding music producer David Foster , with whom he worked and received his first Grammy in 1984 (for the album Chicago 17 ).

Gatica became one of the most successful record producers and sound engineers with whom musicians such as Celine Dion , Josh Groban , Michael Bublé , Andrea Bocelli , Julio Iglesias , Tina Turner , Michael Jackson , Barbra Streisand and Mariah Carey worked. It has been awarded eight Grammy Awards and six Latin Grammy Awards.
