A Jewish community in Faulquemont in the Moselle department in the French region of Lorraine had existed since the 19th century at the latest.

history

The Jewish community of Faulquemont built their first synagogue in 1900 on the site of the current post office. In 1940 the synagogue was destroyed by the German occupiers. In 1962 a new synagogue, avenue André Viaud, was built, which is no longer used for worship today. The Jewish community belonged to the Israelite consistorial district of Metz , which has existed since 1808.
