Jewish community of Rouhling
A Jewish community in Rouhling in the Moselle department in the French region of Lorraine already existed in the Middle Ages .
history
The Jewish community of Rouhling already had a synagogue in the 18th century and in 1808 the community numbered 47 people. Due to the emigration, especially to the neighboring Grosbliederstroff , the community dissolved by the middle of the 19th century. From 1808 the Jewish community belonged to the Israelite consistorial district of Metz .

The Jewish cemetery in Rouhling was also used as a burial place after the Jewish families left. The last burial was on December 9th, 1883. After the destruction of the cemetery by the German occupiers , the cemetery was restored by the political community after 1945 as far as possible.
