A Jewish community in Freistroff in the Moselle department in the French region of Lorraine was established in the mid-18th century.

The Jewish community Freistroff came into being under Ludwig XV. four families got permission to settle in Freistroff. At the end of the 19th century the community had more than 50 members and a synagogue was built around 1895 , which was destroyed during the German occupation in World War II. From 1808 the Jewish community belonged to the Israelite consistorial district of Metz .
