Memorial plaque on the site of the former synagogue

The oldest records of the Jewish residents of Insming can be found in the Jewish cemetery in Hellimer , where they buried their dead.

The Jewish community of Insming built a synagogue in 1843 , which was also used by the Jewish residents from Nelling , Gréning , Petit Rohrbach , Erstroff , Saint-Jean-Rohrbach , Vittersbourg , Lhor , Insviller and Francaltroff . After the Second World War , the synagogue was reopened and used until 1977. In 1989 the synagogue was demolished because renovation would have been too costly. In 1991 a memorial plaque was put up on the site of the former synagogue. The Jewish community belonged to the Israelite consistorial district of Metz , which has existed since 1808.
