Jewish community of Augny

A Jewish community in Augny in the Moselle department in the French region of Lorraine was established in the 18th century.

As early as 1792 there were 83 Jewish residents in Augny who had the following family names: Cahen, Cain, Créhange, Hautvillers, Isaac and Vittely. The Jewish community had belonged to the Consistoire Metz since 1808 .

A synagogue stood at today's address 10/12 rue de Fey, which was abandoned in 1924 and subsequently demolished.

The Jewish cemetery in Augny is located near the church. The inscriptions on the tombstones have become almost illegible from the weather.
