Jewish cemetery in Flévy

A Jewish community in Flévy in the Moselle department in the French region of Lorraine had existed since the 18th century at the latest.

history

The Jewish cemetery is far out of town in the Chelaincourt corridor . Presumably it was created in the 16th century, today only about 55 gravestones ( Mazevot ) remain. The Jewish families von Luttange and Ennery also buried their dead in Flévy until the end of the 18th century. A Jewish cemetery was then established in Ennery. From 1808 the Jews in Flévy belonged to the Israelite consistorial district of Metz .
