Jabłoń ( German  Jablon , 1938 to 1945 Wasserborn ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the Gmina Pisz ( city ​​and rural community Johannisburg ) in the Powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ).

Geographical location

Jabłoń is located a hundred meters east of Lake Falkensee ( Jezioro Brzozolasek in Polish ) in the south-east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , four kilometers southwest of the district town of Pisz ( German Johannisburg ).  

history

Originally from a small homestead and before 1898 Jablonnen , the place was founded in 1823. Until 1945 he was in the community Wonglik (1938-1945 Water Born , Polish Wąglik ) incorporated and with its history in the county Johannesburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen : (from 1905 Region of Olsztyn in) Prussian province of East Prussia connected. In 1905 Jablon had nine residents in just one house.

As a result of the war, the place called Wasserborn since 1938 came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and received the Polish form of the name “Jabłoń”. Today it is a village in the association of the city and rural community Pisz (Johannisburg) in the powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ), until 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then assigned to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Religions

Until 1945 Jablon was parish in the Evangelical Church of Johannisburg in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Roman Catholic Church in Johannisburg in the then diocese of Warmia .

Today Jabłoń belongs to the Catholic parish of Pisz, which is now part of the Ełk diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant residents are also oriented towards the district town, whose parish is part of the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Jabłoń is located on a side road that connects the district town of Pisz with the southern region and leads to Łyse in the Masovian Voivodeship . There is no train connection.
