Jackass: Number Two is a 2006 comedy film . The film is a sequel to Jackass: The Movie from 2002 and is based on the MTV series Jackass . Like the series and the previous film, Jackass: Number Two consists of a cut together of stunts, pranks, and skits that have essentially no coherent plot. All nine main characters of the first part can be seen in the film again and everyone plays himself. Jeff Tremaine took over the direction as in the first part and was also a producer.
The film was produced by Dickhouse Productions and published by Paramount Pictures . The premiere was on September 22, 2006. At the end of December of the same year, a DVD and Jackass 2.5 , a DVD feature previously published on the Internet, were released. Jackass 2.5 contains deleted and unused scenes from the film.
action
Jackass number two has essentially no plot and is more of a compilation of various stunts, pranks and skits . The film begins with the introduction of the "actors" who are followed by a herd of cattle. One after the other they are trampled down until only Bam Margera and Johnny Knoxville are left. Bam jumps through a window and Johnny stops briefly to say his opening sentence " Hi, I'm Johnny Knoxville and welcome to Jackass! " And will then pushed through a window by cops.
The film ends with a Busby Berkeley- like musical number, based on the song "The Best of Times" from the musical La Cage aux Folles . The performers sing and dance while performing stunts. At the end of the film, as in the first film, Rip Taylor can be seen at the end of the scene.

The film includes cameo appearances by Brandon Novak , Brandon DiCamillo , Mark Zupan, Roger Alan Wade , Dimitry Elyashkevich, Loomis case, Lance Bangs, Rick Kosick, Spike Jonze and the directors John Waters , Jay Chandrasekhar .
Also BMX -Legende Mat Hoffman and Tony Hawk did stunts for the film. The rap group Three 6 Mafia also had an appearance, as did HIM singer Ville Valo , actor James DeBello with Kat Von D , and NFL star Jason Taylor. Mike Judge , Luke Wilson and Willie Garson are named in the credits and can be seen in cut scenes.
Scenes with Don Vito were also recorded, who also had numerous appearances in Jackass and Viva La Bam and some of them were shown in previews. However, due to a charge of molesting minors and the ensuing conviction, all scenes with him were cut out.
production
Filming began on January 30, 2006 and ended on June 23, 2006. The Jackass cast did not release the location revelation this time, so fans could film it undisturbed. However, there were recordings in India , Australia and Moscow . A few insights were given by Bam Margera and Steve-O via radio before the release .
The stunt "How to Milk a Horse" was originally shot for Wildboyz but was not published for later exploitation. The idea of drinking a horse's semen was not actually planned, but "in the back of everyone's mind". To get him to do the stunt, Chris Pontius asked director Tremaine about a day off, but wouldn't let him because he hadn't worked the day before. Later Pontius said: "I will take vengeance for that at some point".
Trial demonstrations and publication
The film had four different previews for Jackass fans and MySpace users. The previews took place a few days before the release, possibly as early as August 2006. Some of the previews had surprise appearances by the cast and crew. On June 15, 2006, Yahoo released the first official teaser for the film.

Jackass number two had a distribution of 3,900 screens in 3,059 film locations on the launch day. The film was the weekend's top hit film at $ 29 million and tops the box office list . He also grossed about $ 5-6 million more than Paramount expected. On the very first day, the film brought in its budget of $ 11.5 million with $ 11.8 million. In its second week, the film grossed another $ 14.6 million. Worldwide the film grossed 84.6 million US dollars by August 2, 2009.
Soundtrack
background
The soundtrack was released on September 26, 2006 by Bulletproof Records and contains tracks that were used in the film as well as various audio excerpts from the film. Three Six Mafia and Saliva frontman Josey Scott wrote the song Gettin Fucked Up exclusively for the soundtrack. The front woman of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs , Karen O , wrote and sang an exclusive song, Backass , together with the Peaches . The soundtrack also includes Chris Pontius' debut single for Karazy , I'm Ashamed of Myself .
Rock group Smut Peddlers also covered "If You're Gonna Be Dumb" by Roger Alan Wade . Oddly, the Wolfmother movie's theme song , Joker & the Thief , is not on the soundtrack.

DVD release
On May 17, 2007, the DVD of the film was released in Germany in an uncut version containing extended scenes that were edited for the theatrical version. There is also audio commentary from the cast (with the exception of Bam Margera).
As extras, the DVD has 16 additional scenes as well as more than 20 extended scenes and the making-of.
Jackass 2.5
Jackass 2.5 contains previously unreleased footage. The DVD was released in Germany on April 18, 2008. The extras on the DVD include the making-of of the film and Jackass: The Game , unused scenes and a photo gallery.
