Jamel rocks the forester
Jamel rocks the Förster (also Forstrock Festival ) is an open-air festival in the village of Jamel . It has been organized annually since 2007 by Horst and Birgit Lohmeyer , the owners of the Forsthof Jamel , specifically as a symbol against right-wing extremism and for tolerance . Manuela Schwesig , Minister-President of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, took over the patronage of the festival in 2016 as Federal Minister and the then State Parliament President of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Sylvia Bretschneider .

Jamel is a village in Mecklenburg with fewer than 40 inhabitants and has been a stronghold of the right-wing extremist scene since the early 1990s . The festival was launched by the Lohmeyer couple, who moved there in 2004, as a symbol against the increasing predominance of right-wing residents.
There have been repeated attempts from the right-wing scene to disrupt the festival. On August 13, 2015, shortly before the festival, the yard's barn was set on fire, and in 2016, tires were stabbed on the cars of festival participants. The arson attack on the barn and the spontaneous participation of the Toten Hosen made the festival known nationwide. In order to prevent riots, there is a massive police presence every year.
