Jauhen Sjarhejewitsch Kawyrschyn ( Belarusian Яўген Сяргеевіч Кавыршын , Russian Евгений Сергеевич Ковыршин / Yevgeny Sergeyevich Kowyrschin * 25. January 1986 in Elektrostal , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian - Belarusian ice hockey player who since June 2016 again at HC Dinamo Minsk in the Kontinental hockey League is under contract.
Career
Kawyrschyn, who was born in the Russian SFSR , played for Elemasch Elektrostal during his junior years . In 2003 he moved to Belarus and played for HK Brest for the next three years . There he was active in both the first and second team. In 2006 he moved within the Belarusian extra league to the capital club HK Keramin Minsk . With the capital city, he won the Belarusian championship title and cup in 2008 . The year before he was runner-up.
After another three years, he accepted an offer from city rivals HK Dinamo Minsk , who belonged to the Continental Hockey League , in the summer of 2009 . In the following two years he ran mainly for their farm team , the HK Schachzjor Salihorsk , in the Belarusian extra league and completed 21 KHL games for Dinamo.
In October 2011 he was signed by Severstal Tscherepowez and played there until the end of the 2015/16 season in the KHL. In June 2016 he returned to Dinamo Minsk and took part in the 2016 Spengler Cup , where he was elected to the all-star team of the tournament.
International
Kawyrschyn represented Belarus at the 2009 , 2010 and 2011 World Championships . In 2009 and 2010 he reached the intermediate round with the team.
