Julius of Bose
Friedrich Julius Wilhelm Graf von Bose (born September 12, 1809 in Sangerhausen , † July 22, 1894 in Hasserode ) was a Prussian infantry general .
Life
origin
Julius came from the von Bose family and was the son of the Saxon Rittmeister Ernst Gottlieb von Bose (born November 9, 1772 in Ellingshausen; † January 6, 1845 in Engelsburg) and his wife Johanna Sophie Friederike, née Lüttich (* 1781; † 1855) .
Military career
Bose was a page at the Weimar court from 1821 and joined the Prussian Army's 26th Infantry Regiment as a musketeer in 1826 . He became second lieutenant in 1829 and attended the General War School from 1832 to 1835 . From his graduation from war school until 1852 he was adjutant , most recently in the general command of the IV Army Corps . Afterwards he was company commander in the 27th Infantry Regiment for about a year and was transferred to the General Staff as a major in 1853 . In 1858 he became Chief of the General Staff of the IV Army Corps . After he had led the Hohenzollern Fusilier Regiment No. 40 as Colonel from 1860 , he was appointed to the War Ministry in 1861 and defended the government's position with great energy at the negotiations in the Landtag.
Bose was a major general from 1864 . In the German War of 1866 he led the 15th Infantry Brigade excellently. In the battle near Podol , he advanced his troops, rifle in hand, for the night attack. He also took part in the battles of Münchengrätz , Königgrätz , Göding , Holitsch and at Blumenau and was honored for this. After the peace agreement, Bose was promoted to lieutenant general and commander of the 20th division in Hanover . According to AKO of June 26, 1869, he was granted the right to wear the uniform à la suite of the 31st Infantry Regiment in Erfurt . When the Franco-Prussian War broke out, he was appointed commanding general of the XI. Army Corps . On August 6, 1870, Bose was wounded twice in the Battle of Wörth . So he could not go back to the head of his troops until 1871. For his services in this war he received a grant of 100,000 thalers .
In 1873, Bose was appointed General of Infantry and Chief of Infantry Regiment No. 31 , which was named after his death. In October 1876 he received honorary citizenship of the city of Kassel . On April 6, 1880 Bose was elevated to the rank of count and leaving his position as head of Infantry Regiment. 31 with board for disposition made.

Bose had married on December 31, 1835 in Benneckenbeck with Johanna Therese von Alemann (born November 19, 1807 in Benneckenbeck, † July 19, 1891 in Wernigerode ). The following children were born from the marriage:
