Junkers EF 009
The Junkers EF 009 was designed by Junkers Werke for a small single-seater hunter that should be able to take off vertically on a mount.
The very small aircraft was to be powered by ten engines (probably rocket engines), four of which were provided under the fuselage and six on the top just in front of the cockpit. While the take-off was to take place from a vertical launch pad, the landing was planned on a retractable bow central runner and a fixed keel fin. The design was otherwise conventional as a cantilever low wing aircraft with short wings that had a relatively large depth.
In the bow should offset two 30mm MK-108- machine guns be accommodated. Behind it, the pilot was in a lying position in order to be able to cope with the high accelerations, especially during take-off.
The range was limited due to the planned maximum engine burn time of six minutes, the object protection of potential point targets was probably the primary use.
