The Junkers T 21 aircraft was the successor to the Junkers T 19 aircraft .

Development

It is a reconnaissance aircraft designed by Ernst Zindel as a high- wing aircraft, which was built as a model aircraft for the production of the Junkers Ju 21 in Fili near Moscow ( USSR ). The first flight took place on June 12, 1923 in Dessau .

Compared to the T 19, the main changes were made to the fuselage (reinforced), a larger wingspan was provided and the additional drop tanks used on the Ju 21 were designed.

The T 21 was equipped with a BMW IIIa engine with 136 kW. Although made in Germany , the T 21, of which only two copies with the serial numbers 354 and 355 were built, did not appear in the German aircraft role , but was brought to the USSR immediately after testing .
