The Junkers Ju 21 was the military version of the T 21 reconnaissance aircraft built in Fili ( USSR ) . At Junkers , the license designation Junkers H 21 was used for the unarmed version . It is an armed reconnaissance aircraft constructed as a high -wing aircraft . Initially equipped with a BMW IIIa engine with 136 kW, later models also received the BMW IVa engine with 176 kW.

A special feature of this type were the external fuel tanks that could be thrown off in case of danger. The Ju 21 was used until the end of the 1920s.
