As a real estate company, Uetersener Eisenbahn AG has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of KViP since 2014, and Norddeutsche Eisenbahngesellschaft Niebüll GmbH (NEG Niebüll), the responsible railway infrastructure company, took over the management of its railway line in 2008 .

history

On December 7th, 1993 the KViP roundabout company in Pinneberg mbH was founded. One month later, on January 1, 1994, the employees and the operating resources as well as the line concessions were taken over by Uetersener Eisenbahn AG , which previously operated bus services in the Uetersen, Heidgraben , Tornesch , Appen , Pinneberg area within the then existing transport association in the Pinneberg district (ViP), i.e. outside the HVV. The shareholders of KViP were the district of Pinneberg (51%), the economic and development company of the district of Pinneberg mbH (22.5%), the Pinneberger Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH (PVG, 20%), the Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein AG (VHH, 6 %) and Otto Strunk Omnibusbetrieb GmbH (0.5%).

In the middle of 1995 the following bus lines were operated by KViP:

In 1996, KViP operated nine bus routes with its own license (operating performance here 817,000 km), on another five routes with joint concessions with PVG as operator, and on other PVG routes with contract trips in the HVV. The total operating performance in 1996 was 1.367 million km with operating expenses of 6,264 million DM and operating income of 5.171 million DM; sales amounted to DM 4,811,156. 43 employees (including 5 in administration) and 22 buses were used for this - this also included an articulated bus ( Mercedes-Benz O 305 G ) that was taken over from the Lübeck public utility company at the end of 1996 . From December 1995, the KViP introduced the stable, informative bus stop masts with a square profile that are common in Hamburg, which they were the first transport company in Northern Germany to equip in red to distinguish themselves from the yellow masts of the HVV bus stops at that time. The line concessions in the Pinneberg district were now generally issued to the KViP or as a joint concession with it.

The KViP website was launched on July 1st, 1999. In the middle of 2000, the construction of the new facilities on the company premises began. In 2001 a new washing and care hall was completed and the old workshop and the former washing hall were converted.

When the renewal of the liner concessions in the Pinneberg district (except for the Elmshorn city traffic) was due, these were awarded as a joint concession with the KViP from 2002. KViP received joint concessions (roughly in the order in which they were awarded) for lines 76 (with PVG), 489 and 589 (with PVG), 585 (with PVG), 594 (with VHH and PVG), 395 (with VHH), 623 (with VHH and Autokraft ), 289 and 389 (with PVG), 186 (with PVG), 285 (with PVG), 189 (with PVG), 195 and 585 (with VHH) as well as 194, 294 and 794 (with VHH ). This procedure ended in the late 2000s.

Since December 15, 2002, the HVV tariffs have also been in effect in the Schleswig-Holstein districts of Hamburg Pinneberg, Stormarn, Segeberg and in the Duchy of Lauenburg.
On January 1st, 2004 the completely redesigned KViP internet site went online.
In December 2006 the control center of the KViP in the administration building in Uetersen was completely rebuilt.
On January 5, 2008, the KViP website was launched after four years with a completely new appearance.
Since the end of 2010, the KViP lines have had the regional four-digit 60 line numbers for bus routes in the Pinneberg district.

On May 14, 2012, the first fully electric bus was presented at the KViP (GuangDong Eurabus 600 from China). It was equipped with twelve batteries and a 130 kW electric drive. It can save around 25,000 euros in energy costs annually. The higher acquisition costs for the electric bus (380,000 euros, around 100,000 euros more than for a diesel vehicle) should pay for itself after around three years . After a few demonstrations, it was used in regular scheduled service from July 2012.

With the timetable change in December 2017, the KViP took over the operation of the Elmshorn city bus routes , which were transferred over the counter . The KViP replaced the line as the operator, and most of its drivers were taken over.

Since January 26, 2020, the Barmstedt school traffic (lines 6542, 6543 and 6544) has again been provided by the KViP Uetersen.
