Bokel is part of the Hamburg Transport Association . The nearest train station is Dauenhof on the Hamburg – Kiel railway line , six kilometers west of Bokel. Approximately the same distance is the Wrist train station (Steinburg district), north of Bokel, also on the Hamburg-Kiel railway line. The HHV bus route 6542 connects Bokel with Barmstedt on the Elmshorn – Ulzburg railway line on weekdays .
