Prisdorf ( Low German : Prisdorp ) is a municipality in the southwest of Schleswig-Holstein in the Pinneberg district , on the road 107 between Pinneberg and Tornesch in the largest contiguous tree nursery area in Europe .

Prisdorf is located in the Pinneberg district , part of the Hamburg metropolitan region , between the city of Pinneberg and the communities of Kummerfeld , Appen and Tornesch .

Population development

The development of the population in the years 1939 to 1955 is mainly due to the admission of evacuated Hamburg residents and expellees from the eastern regions. From 1960, however, the reported population figures are to be regarded as real. The development from this point on is due to the building activity in the municipality, especially caused by the peripheral location to Hamburg and Pinneberg.

Prisdorf has a train station on the route from Hamburg Hbf. to Kiel or HH-Altona to Westerland. At the far north-western end, Prisdorf is part of the greater area of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV), accessible with the regional trains RB 61 and RB 71.
