Shirtingen is a municipality in the Pinneberg district in Schleswig-Holstein . The districts of Drosselbusch, Shirtingerheide, Himmelmoor, Hochmoorsheide, Klein- and Großhemdingen, Reebmoor, Rosenhof, Vielmoor, Westerkamp and Wohld as well as Auf der Scheide, Habichtshorst and Mullendisch belong to the community.
Geography and traffic
The community of Shirtingen is about four kilometers northwest of Quickborn and can therefore be reached via the federal highway 4 , which leads from Quickborn to Bad Bramstedt .
Parts of the state forest of Rantzau (today: Schleswig-Holstein State Forests ) are in the area of the municipality. There are also several peat bogs with the Vielmoor, the Himmelmoor and the Bredenmoor.
history
Traces of settlement from the Neolithic Age can be found in the municipality . Some of the preserved barrows are now under monument protection.
The place was first mentioned in 1564.

Of the 13 seats in the municipal council has the Wählergemeinschaft HWG since the local elections in 2018 six seats, the CDU has four and the SPD three seats.
