Seeth-Ekholt ( Low German : Seeth-Eekholt ) is a municipality in the Pinneberg district in Schleswig-Holstein . Beeklohe is located in the municipality.
Geography and traffic
Seeth-Ekholt is located directly east of Elmshorn on the federal highway 23 from Hamburg to Elmshorn.
history
Seeth-Ekholt is first mentioned in a document in 1351 in the Kiel rent book as Sethe . The name developed from "Zeethe" 1388, "Szete" 1564, "Seth" 1700 to "Seeth" 1915 and the name Ekholt developed from "Eekholt" and "Eckholt" to today's spelling "Seeth-Ekholt". The Low German word Ekholt means oak when translated into High German.
The area of the community once belonged to the Barmstede office, which in 1650 became the imperial county of Rantzau .
