The chapel is on the street at Heiligenhaus in the district of Karken-Hingen. It stands on the outskirts in a free position.
history
At the place where the chapel stands today, a saint's house stood until 1850 . At what time this chapel was built is not known. It is reported from 1927 that a crucifix had stood there for several years . The neighborhoods from Hingen and Winkel decided to build a new chapel in 1957. The construction planning was in the hands of Heinrich Nacken. During the construction work, the old foundations were exposed and the new chapel was built on them. On Pentecost Sunday , May 17, 1959, she was welcomed with a solemn devotion by Pastor Dr. Rudolf Vitus inaugurated.
architecture
The band is a little brick construction with a pointed arch under a pulled-down, verschieferten saddle roof . The entrance side is provided with wooden windows, the door is attached in the middle. A bench on the forecourt invites you to linger. The inside of the chapel is plastered and painted white. To the right and left of the altar there are two circular windows. In 1986 the chapel was restored by the chapel association.
Furnishing
- In the chapel there is an altar, a crucifix, two figures of saints , candles, floral decorations and the usual chapel furnishings.
- Honor plaque with the names of the fallen and missing soldiers of the war 1939-1945 von Hingen and Winkel.
- The round windows on the altar and the entrance side are provided with stained glass .
