Kastner (family name)
Kastner is a family name in the German-speaking area that is derived from the historical occupation of Kastner .
The first known bearer of the name today was Hans Kastner mit dem Flug († 1102), patrician of Amberg .
Other spellings are Castner and Kastener , Czech borrowed Kasnar . Emigrants to North America have partly Americanized the spelling in Costner , Cosner and Chostner .
