history

Klinthenen (Snamenka) municipality

After a fire in the town of Gerdauen (Russian: Schelesnodoroschny) at the beginning of the 15th century, the forest of Klinthenes was cut down to rebuild the town. The resulting stump wood was given to settlers . At the time of Winrich von Kniprode , the then village mayor Jakob Recklau was in charge of dividing the deforested forest plots .

During the plague the population of Klinthenen was almost extinct. A later repopulation of the village took place through the immigration of religious refugees from Salzburg and Switzerland .

From 1874 to 1930 the rural community of Klinthenen belonged to the administrative district of Wandlacken (Russian: Swerewo) and was then incorporated into the administrative district of Altendorf (Wischnjowoje) until 1945 . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Gerdauen in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1910 there were 271 inhabitants in Klinthenen. Their number increased to 300 by 1933 and was still 287 in 1939.

In 1945 Klinthenen came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia and was renamed "Snamenka" in 1947. Until 2009 the place was in the since 1991/92 Russian Oblast Kaliningrad in the Wischnjowski soviet (Dorfsovjet Wischnjowoje ( Altendorf )). Since then, Snamenka belongs to the Gorodskoje posselenije Schelesnodoroschnoje (township of Schelesnodoroschny (Gerdauen) ) in Pravdinsk district - due to structural and administrative reform - as a "settlement" (possjolok) .

Forsthaus Klinthenen (Leskowo)

To the north-east of the municipality of Klinthenen was the forest house Klinthenen, which belonged to the municipality of Wandlacken (Russian: Swerewo) and which in 1950 was given the Russian name "Leskowo". Until 2009, the village was incorporated into the Vishnevsky Soviet (Dorfsowjet Winschnjowoje (Altendorf) ). The place has not been officially designated since then.
