The town hall of Osnabrück
  • The Osnabrück town hall, built in the late Gothic style , will be completed after 25 years of construction. The front view is determined by an 18-meter-high hipped roof , the height of which almost corresponds to the other height of the building from the floor slab to the eaves . At the lower end of the roof there are a total of six towers, which are reminiscent of the guard and corner towers of a fortress.

They show scenes from Genesis on a total of 520 m² with 115 larger-than-life characters. In particular, the fresco The Creation of Adam becomes one of the most famous works in art history. Immediately after completing the ceiling paintings, Michelangelo returned to his preferred project, the funerary monument for Pope Julius II.
