- April 4 : Henrick Santman builds a half-timbered house in Warburg . The building is later named Arnoldihaus in memory of the Jesuit priest and martyr Johannes Arnoldi and is now part of the city's cultural heritage .

- November 12th : The body of Emperor Friedrich III, who died in 1493 . is buried in the newly created tomb in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna by Niclas Gerhaert van Leyden .
- After the death of Pope Julius II , his heirs sign a new contract with Michelangelo Buonarotti about the funerary monument he is currently working on. The monument is now to be completed in a smaller version. In the first time, among other things, the figure of the horned Moses and the bound and dying slave emerged.
- Master Anton Pilgram completes the organ base of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna .
