Kurt Georg Mathias Siegfried von Borcke or Kurt Henry Mathias Siegfried Rudolf von Borcke (born April 21, 1847 in Frankfurt (Oder) , † December 14, 1921 in Dresden ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

Kurt von Borcke was a member of the Pomeranian noble family Borcke . His parents were General Ludwig von Borcke (1804–1888) and his wife Karoline Adelheid, née Wahlert (1818–1908). General Robert von Wahlert (1817-1891) was his uncle.

Career

Borcke began an officer career in the Prussian Army in 1861 with the cadet corps in Kulm and moved to the Berlin cadet house in 1863 . In 1865 he was a porter ensign in the 3rd Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 71 . He attended the war school in Erfurt in 1866 and took part in the campaign against Austria , in particular the battles near Podol , Münchengraetz and Königgrätz . In Blumenau he was severely wounded and consequently bound for six months on sick bed. Nevertheless, he was promoted to secondary lieutenant in July 1866 and received the military honor II class on the black ribbon for bravery . After that he was a Landwehr district adjutant . In the Franco-Prussian War he took part in the siege of Paris and the battle of Epinai in 1871. He received the Iron Cross II class and the Schwarzburg Cross of Honor IV class. In 1872 he was transferred to the 6th East Prussian Infantry Regiment No. 43 , rose to Prime Lieutenant in 1874 and was transferred to Karlsruhe in 1874 to the Badische Leibregiment No. 109 . In 1880, after Borcke had previously been assigned as a company commander to the non-commissioned officer school in Weißenfels , he was assigned à la suite of the 81st Infantry Regiment and promoted to captain . In 1887 he became company commander and in 1890 he was promoted to major in Infantry Regiment 71 . In 1892 Borcke became the commander of the 2nd Battalion in Infantry Regiment No. 96 and in 1894 a regular staff officer in the regiment. In 1897 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel . With his ascent to Colonel in 1899 he was awarded pension for disposition made, but it was from 1899 to 1904 still commander of the militia County Hall . Also in 1904 he received the character of major general.

family

Borcke married in 1875 with Antonie von Klatte (1854–1922), daughter of the manor owner Maximiliean von Klatte on Wernrode . The marriage resulted in two children:
