La Tessoualle is a French commune with a population of 3,198 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Cholet and the canton of Cholet-2 (until 2015: canton of Cholet-3 ). The inhabitants are called Tessouallais .
geography
La Tessoualle is located about six kilometers south-southeast of Cholet in the Mauges . The Moine flows through the municipality and is dammed here to form the Lac du Verdon. La Tessoualle is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cholet in the north and west, Maulévrier in the east, Saint-Pierre-des-Échaubrognes in the southeast and Mauléon in the south and southeast.
The national route 249 runs through the municipality .
