Lys-Haut-Layon is a French commune with 7,880 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . It is part of the Arrondissement of Cholet and the Canton of Cholet-2 .

Lys-Haut-Layon was created as Commune nouvelle as part of a regional reform on January 1, 2016 through the merger of seven former municipalities, Les Cerqueux-sous-Passavant , La Fosse-de-Tigné , Nueil-sur-Layon , Tancoigné , Tigné , Trémont , Vihiers , which are now districts of Lys-Haut-Layon ( Communes déléguées ). The administrative center is in the village of Vihiers .

Lys-Haut-Layon is located about 45 kilometers south-southeast of Angers between the Lys and Layon rivers . Lys-Haut-Layon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montilliers , Cernusson , Aubigné-sur-Layon and Terranjou in the north, Doué-en-Anjou in the east, Saint-Macaire-du-Bois and Bouillé-Loretz in the south-east, and Val en Vignes in the South and south-east, Passavant-sur-Layon , Cléré-sur-Layon , Saint Maurice Étusson and Saint-Paul-du-Bois in the south, La Plaine in the south-west, Coron in the west and Chemillé-en-Anjou in the west and north-west.
