Liam Cosgrave ( Irish : Liam Mac Cosgair ; born April 13, 1920 in Templeogue , County Dublin , † October 4, 2017 in Dublin ) was an Irish politician of the Fine Gael . He was the son of William Thomas Cosgrave , the first President of the Executive Council of the Irish Free State . From 1965 to 1977 he served as leader of the Fine Gael and was also foreign minister from 1954 to 1957 and Taoiseach (head of government of the government Liam Cosgrave ) from 1973 to 1977 .
