List of famous Christian archaeologists
The list of well-known Christian archaeologists collects people who have completed their habilitation in this subject, are relevant as authors or have made other significant contributions to Christian archeology . What the subject of Christian archeology includes is disputed in detail, see under Christian archeology . Then she deals either with Christian art from the first six centuries after the turn of the times or with the material legacies of late antiquity , whether Christian, pagan or profane. Relationships exist with Biblical Archeology , which examines the legacy from Old Testament times, Classical , Near Eastern and Provincial Roman Archeology , Ancient History , Egyptology as well as Epigraphy , Papyrology , Numismatics and Byzantine Studies , which often deal with aspects of early Christian or late Antique art and culture. At the theological faculties, Christian archeology is partly represented by the lecturers of ancient church history .
