List of municipalities in the district of Konstanz
The list of municipalities in the district of Konstanz gives an overview of the 25 smallest administrative units in the district . Seven of the parishes are cities . Constance , Singen (Hohentwiel) and Radolfzell on Lake Constance are medium-sized towns , the other four, Aach , Engen , Stockach and Tengen are small towns .
In its present form, the district of Konstanz was created in the course of the district reform carried out in 1973 . The district was enlarged to include most of the places in the former Stockach district , some communities in the Sigmaringen district and Stetten in the Donaueschingen district . With the exception of Nordhalden , which is now part of the Schwarzwald-Baar district , all the communities in the former district of Konstanz are still part of the district of Konstanz.

The district can be further divided into the following agreed administrative communities (VVG) and municipal administration associations (GVB):
- VVG Engen with the towns of Engen and Aach (Hegau) and the municipality of Mühlhausen-Ehingen
- VVG Gottmadingen with the communities Gottmadingen , Büsingen am Hochrhein and Gailingen am Hochrhein
- GVB Höri with the communities Gaienhofen , Moos (on Lake Constance) and Öhningen ;
- VVG Konstanz with the city of Konstanz and the communities of Allensbach and Reichenau
- VVG Singen (Hohentwiel) with the city of Singen (Hohentwiel) and the communities of Rielasingen-Worblingen , Steißlingen and Volkertshausen
- VVG Stockach with the city of Stockach and the communities Bodman-Ludwigshafen , Eigeltingen , Hohenfels , Mühlingen and Orsingen-Nenzingen
The cities of Radolfzell on Lake Constance and Tengen , like the municipality of Hilzingen, are not members of an administrative community or a municipal administration association.
The district has a total area of 817.97 km² . The city of Engen has the largest area within the district with 70.53 km². This is followed by the cities of Stockach with 69.75 km², Tengen with 61.98 km² and Singen (Hohentwiel) with 61.75 km². Four municipalities have an area larger than 50 km², including the cities of Konstanz and Radolfzell on Lake Constance . Two municipalities have an area of over 30 km², six municipalities are over 20 km², seven municipalities are over 10 km² and two municipalities are smaller than 10 km². The smallest areas have the city of Aach (Hegau) with 10.69 km², the municipality of Büsingen am Hochrhein with 7.62 km² and the municipality of Volkertshausen with 5.15 km².
The major district towns of Constance with 84,760 inhabitants, Singen (Hohentwiel) with 47,723 inhabitants and Radolfzell on Lake Constance with 31,203 inhabitants have the largest share of the population of the district of 285,325 inhabitants. The cities of Stockach and Engen , as well as the communities of Rielasingen-Worblingen and Gottmadingen have over 10,000 inhabitants. Three municipalities have over 5,000 inhabitants. The remaining 15 municipalities, including the cities of Aach and Tengen , have between 1,000 and 5,000 inhabitants. The three smallest municipalities in terms of population are the city of Aach with 2296 inhabitants, the municipality of Hohenfels with 2038 and the municipality of Büsingen am Hochrhein with 1491 inhabitants.
The entire district of Konstanz has a population density of 349 inhabitants per km². The largest population density within the district are the cities of Konstanz with 1523 inhabitants per km² and Singen (Hohentwiel) with 773, followed by the community of Rielasingen-Worblingen with 643. Two communities have a population density of over 500, including the city of Radolfzell on Lake Constance and others two of over 400. All other municipalities have a lower population density than the district average of 349. Six of these municipalities have a population density between 200 and 300, eight have between 100 and 200 inhabitants per km² and in four municipalities the population density is below 100. The am The most sparsely populated communities are Mühlingen with 76, Hohenfels with 67 and Eigeltingen with 65 inhabitants per km².
