List of cultural assets in Oberdiessbach

The list of cultural assets in Oberdiessbach contains all objects in the municipality of Oberdiessbach in the canton of Bern that are subject to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict , the Federal Act of June 20, 2014 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict and the Ordinance of 29 June 2014 October 2014 on the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict .

Objects in categories A and B are completely included in the list, objects in category C are currently missing (as of January 1, 2018). Among other monuments protected objects are found, the "worthy of protection" in the canton of Bern Bauinventar than are listed.

The country estate, built around 1740, is a representative cuboid building under a high, hipped roof , the facades of which have well-tended sandstone structures. On the west side there is a deep, two-story arbor with strong columns on the ground floor and a baluster on the upper floor. The construction group also includes a farmhouse (3rd quarter of the 19th century), a wood shed with storage (1st half of the 19th century), an oven house (19th century) and a Stöckli (early 19th century).

The family chapel of the Wattenwyl patrician dynasty, which was built on the south side of the choir of the village church between 1671 and 1679, is a unique building for the canton of Bern. It has a beautiful sandstone structure, a sundial , a baroque tracery window and an elegant hipped mansard roof . On the southern inner wall is the monumental tomb of the client Albrecht von Wattenwyl made of gilded sandstone with a life-size, fully plastic seated figure of the deceased.

The palace of the von Wattenwyl patrician family , built from 1666 to 1668 in the late Renaissance style, is the first purely French country estate in the canton of Bern and is considered the main work of Bernese secular architecture in the mid-17th century. The main facade has a two-storey loggia made of house stones , which is flanked by side elevations , the sandstone structure of which forms an orthogonal grid. This is additionally emphasized by means of short transverse ridges in the high hipped roof .

The farmhouse , built in 1614, is a massive log building with a raised room floor. It is characterized by strong threshold timbers, some of which are connected with triple locks, and simply contoured, block-like consoles . An economic part with a first-parallel high entrance is built onto the living area.

Castle built in 1546 with an older core, the stair tower dates from 1669. Narrow, elongated building under Gerschild roof, which takes over the escape of the curtain wall and sits on top of it. The raised ground floor is partly massive and has a sandstone structure. The half-timbered construction above, edged with shingles, protrudes on the upper floor on the south side.
