List of crossroads in Eichsfeld
In the list of crossroads in Eichsfeld , outdoor crossroads for places that belong to the historical Eichsfeld are listed. It is primarily sorted by location, regardless of whether it is a district, municipality or city. The Way of the Cross is the last journey of Jesus Christ's passion and is now mainly represented with 14 stations. Stations of the Cross simulate a replicated pilgrimage route and are used for devotional exercises.
Stations of the Cross in Churches
In most Catholic churches and larger chapels there are pictures, reliefs or simple depictions of the Passion along the side walls. One of the most famous crossroads is the majolica way of the cross in Effelder, created between 1924 and 1928 by Georg Kemper .
