Surname
The name of the Mhadtalhauses was from the northwest located Mahdtal ( Germany derived). Mahd refers to the mowing , cutting of grass or grain . The Mahdtalhof is located about 300 meters to the northwest.
history
On July 10, 1942, the Südwesthütte (now Mahdtalhaus) in Kleinwalsertal was bought by the Stuttgart section of the German Alpine Club .
On January 12, 1990, the “Mahdtalhaus” was completely destroyed by fire and then rebuilt.
Location and facilities
The Mahdtalhaus has four beds in two four-person dorms, 16 beds in two-bed rooms and ten beds in the mattress dormitory. There is no winter room. The connected snack station provides house guests with breakfast and / or dinner if required. The Mahdtalhaus is about 15 minutes on foot from Riezlern ( 1088 m above sea level ). Parking spaces are also right by the house and the next bus stop is only a 2-minute walk away. Tours

In the 1990s, the departure through the Mahdtal was closed at the instigation of hunting . Mountaineering associations have reached the opening of a descent road through a forest zone to the Mahdtalhaus, which however often gaps and is difficult to drive on. This route was marked in an environmentally friendly way as part of the ski mountaineering project .

Individual evidence
- ↑ Address: Mahdtalhaus, Innerschwende 39, A-6991 Riezlern (1088 m above sea level). At the Mahdtalhaus, the height above the reference level is written as 1100 m, but this is not correct.
