Mascotte is a city in Lake County in the US state of Florida with 5101 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Mascotte borders the town of Groveland to the east . The city is about 30 km south of Tavares and about 40 km west of Orlando .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 5,101 inhabitants were distributed over 1,654 households. The population density was 809.7 inh / km². 60.4% of the population identified themselves as white, 11.8% as African American , 0.9% as Native American and 1.5% as Asian Americans . 21.7% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.7% to several ethnic groups. 47.3% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 17.3% of all households lived in 54.5% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 82.2% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 3.41 people and the average family size was 3.67 people.
36.7% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 30.9% were 20 to 39 years old, 22.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 10.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 30 years. 51.2% of the population were male and 48.8% were female.
