Dieudonné "Dieumerci" Mbokani Bezua (born November 22, 1985 in Kinshasa , Zaire ) is a Congolese football player . He has been under contract with Royal Antwerp since the 2018/19 season .

Career

Mbokani began his career at Bel'Or FC, where he was brought to the first team in 2004. In 2005 he moved to Tout Puissant Mazembe within his home country . In 2006 he became champion with the club. Then Mbokani was signed by RSC Anderlecht . In his first season in Belgium, the striker made nine appearances and scored four goals. Anderlecht won the Belgian championship and the Supercup.

For the 2007/08 season he was signed by Standard Liège . Mbokani was able to celebrate the championship title and Supercup again, as in the following season 2008/09. In 2009/10 Standard came to the quarterfinals of the Europa League with Mbokani , but could only be eighth in the championship. In the play-offs 2 for a possible Europa League qualification, the team in Group B was only second, so that Standard did not take part in the European Cup in the 2010/11 season. Mbokani made twelve European appearances in the 2009/10 season, scoring three goals (against Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League and against Panathinaikos Athens and Hamburger SV in the Europa League).

At the beginning of the 2010/11 season he moved to AS Monaco in the French first division, where Mbokani signed a contract for a period of four years. In the first half of the season he was only used irregularly. and was therefore awarded at the end of January 2011 for the second half of the season to VfL Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga . He came seven times in a row, mostly as a substitute, but after the coach change to Felix Magath he was no longer considered. Even before the end of the season it was announced that the purchase option would not be drawn and that he would return to AS Monaco, which had since been relegated to the second division in France.

In August 2011 Mbokani moved to his former club RSC Anderlecht for a transfer fee of around three million euros . There he was able to distinguish himself again by his goal danger.
In June 2013 he then moved to the Ukrainian top club Dynamo Kiev for eleven million euros, where he received a contract until 2017 and wore the shirt number 85.

For the 2015/16 season Mbokani moved to Norwich City on loan for a year and in 2016/17 he became the English first division club Hull City . borrowed further. In the 2017/18 season he played again for Dynamo Kiev .

For the 2018/19 season he then joined the Belgian first division club Royal Antwerp . At the end of June 2020, his contract was extended until the end of the 2020/21 season.

National team

Mbokani played a total of 40 international matches for the DR Congo between 2005 and 2017, scoring eighteen goals, three of them in a 2012 game against Equatorial Guinea (4-0).
