Montaldeo ( Piedmontese Montondé , Ligurian Montaldeo ) is a municipality with 237 (as of December 31, 2019) inhabitants in the Italian province of Alessandria (AL), Piedmont region .
geography

The neighboring municipalities are Casaleggio Boiro , Castelletto d'Orba , Lerma , Mornese , Parodi Ligure and San Cristoforo .
The Margraviate of Montaldeo was owned by the Genoese Doria family from 1531 .
Culinary specialties
In Montaldeo, Dolcetto vines are grown for Dolcetto d'Ovada , a red wine with DOC status. The berries of the Pinot Noir and / or Chardonnay grape varieties can be used to make Alta Langa sparkling wine . The Barbera variety finds its way into the red wine Barbera del Monferrato .
