Moussa Diaby (born July 7, 1999 in Paris ) is a French football player . The winger , who can be used on both sides , has been under contract with German Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen since the 2019/20 season .
Career

Moussa Diaby comes from the youth of the local Paris Saint-Germain club , where he signed his first professional contract on November 22, 2017. In January 2018 he was loaned to the Italian first division club FC Crotone for the remainder of the 2017/18 season. He made his debut for the Pitagorici on April 14, when he was substituted on in the 1-0 defeat against CFC Genoa in the closing stages. Four days later he was already in the starting line-up of Crotones in the 1-1 draw against Juventus Turin . He then did not play a game for the first team and returned to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2018 after the relegation of Crotones.
After good performances in the preparatory games for the 2018/19 season , he was promoted to the first team by the new coach Thomas Tuchel . He made his debut for the reigning champions on the first day of play. In the 3-0 home win against SM Caen , he came on for Lassana Diarra in the 70th minute . In the game against AS Saint-Étienne on September 14, he met for the first time for PSG when he scored in the 84th minute to make it 4-0. With Paris Saint-Germain under coach Thomas Tuchel he won his first two titles as professional footballer with the French Supercup 2018 and the French Championship 2019.
For the 2019/20 season, Diaby moved to the German Bundesliga at Bayer 04 Leverkusen , where he was awarded a five-year contract. On matchday 12 he scored his first Bundesliga goal in a 1-1 draw against SC Freiburg in his first game for Leverkusen.
National team
Diaby took part with the French U-19 national team in the U19 European Championship 2018 , in which they failed in the semi-finals against Italy . Due to his strong performances - he scored one goal and was able to prepare three more - he was nominated for the team of the tournament.

Personal
Diaby was born in July 1999 in the French capital Paris and grew up in the 19th arrondissement in the northeast of the city. At the age of 14 he completed an internship at the club while moving to Paris Saint-Germain. He is the father of a son born at the end of February 2020.
