Daley Sinkgraven (born July 4, 1995 in Assen ) is a Dutch football player on the position of midfielder and left full-back . He started his career at SC Heerenveen and played at Ajax Amsterdam from 2015 to 2019 . He was also the Dutch junior international from 2012 to 2016.
He has been under contract with German Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen since the 2019/20 season .
Career
society
Daley Sinkgraven started playing soccer at VV Beilen and switched to the D-youth team at the joint youth academy of SC Heerenveen and FC Emmen via MVV Alcides . On January 18, 2014 he made his debut in the Eredivisie for SC Heerenveen as a substitute for Hakim Ziyech in the 2-2 on matchday 19 against Roda JC Kerkrade . Sinkgraven qualified with the club, for which he came to 15 missions in the 2013/14 season , for the play-offs to participate in the qualification for the Europa League , in which SC Heerenveen was eliminated by AZ Alkmaar . In the first half of the following season Sinkgraven made 21 appearances across all competitions. His contract ran until June 30, 2017.
In the winter transfer period of the 2014/15 season, Sinkgraven moved to Ajax Amsterdam . Sinkgraven fought for a regular place and came to ten appearances in the league, the first time on February 5, 2015 in the 0-1 defeat on matchday 21 against AZ Alkmaar. He played his first European game on February 19, 2015 in a 1-0 win in the first leg of the sixteenth-finals in the Europa League against Legia Warsaw . Until he was eliminated in the round of 16, he was used in all four games. After a few mistakes in the 2015/16 season - both in qualifying for the Champions League against SK Rapid Wien and in the group game in the Europa League against Celtic Glasgow - Sinkgraven lost his regular place. In the 2016/17 season he got his place in the regular team under coach Peter Bosz , who succeeded Frank de Boer . On April 13, 2017, he suffered an injury to his left knee in the quarter-finals of the Europa League against FC Schalke 04 and thus missed the final phase of the season, including the final of the competition against Manchester United . He was back in action in October 2017, but in November he suffered an injury to his left knee, which meant that Sinkgraven only made eight competitive appearances in the 2017/18 season . He was only used again in December 2018 when he came on for Zakaria Labyad in the 78th minute of the 5-1 win on matchday 14 against ADO Den Haag . With the Amsterdam team, Sinkgraven reached the semi-finals in the Champions League and was only eliminated in the semi-finals with a late goal due to the away goals rule against Tottenham Hotspur ; he came to two missions during the tournament. At the end of the 2018/19 season , Sinkgraven won the championship and cup double with Ajax.
On June 17, 2019, the German Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen signed him for the 2019/20 season . Sinkgraven signed a four-year contract with this company.
National team
Sinkgraven ran three times for the Dutch U17 national team and twice for the U18 . Sinkgraven also played a game for the U19 national team and played his first game for the Dutch U21 national team on September 8, 2014 , when he played in the 0-1 defeat in Tilburg in qualifying for the 2015 U21 European Championship against Slovakia has been.
