Zakaria Labyad ( Zentralatlas-Tamazight ⵣⴰⴽⴰⵔⵉⵢⴰ ⵍⴰⴱⵢⴰⴹ Zakariya Labyaḍ ; born March 9, 1993 in Utrecht , Netherlands ) is a Moroccan - Dutch football player who has been under contract with Ajax Amsterdam since summer 2018 .
Career
society
Labyad started playing football with the USV Elinkwijk juniors in his hometown of Utrecht . In 2004, at the age of eleven, he moved to the youth department of PSV Eindhoven .
Since the 2009/10 season Labyad has been part of the first PSV team to play in the Eredivisie . He made his debut on February 25, 2010 in a 3-2 win against Hamburger SV in the second round of the Europa League . For the first time in the league he ran three days later in a 5-1 win over RKC Waalwijk when he was substituted on at half time. On April 18, 2010, he scored his first two goals in professional football in his fifth league game against FC Groningen . After only six season games in his first year, he was initially only used sporadically in the following season 2010/11 . On April 7, 2011 Labyad made in the 1: 4 defeat in the Europa League quarter-final first leg against Benfica Lisbon , after his substitution, that goal to 1: 3 (final score 1: 4). At the same time, it was Labyad's first goal in Europe. In the 2011/12 season Labyad finally became a regular player and was used in 32 games in which he was able to score six goals. In 2012 he won the Dutch Cup with PSV by beating Heracles Almelo 3-0 in the final .
For the 2012/13 season Labyad moved to the Portuguese first division club Sporting Lisbon . On August 19, 2012 (1st matchday) he made his debut in the Primeira Liga .
On January 9, 2014 Labyad moved to Vitesse Arnhem on loan for a year and a half .
After returning to Lisbon in the summer of 2015, he was part of the squad of the second team, for which he played 14 times in the Segunda Liga and scored three goals.
On February 1, 2016 Labyad moved to the English second division FC Fulham on loan until the end of the 2015/16 season . At Fulham he could not prevail and came in the first team and U-21 each to two missions without his own goal.
After the loan ended, Labyad no longer played a role at Sporting Lisbon. His contract was terminated on August 31, 2016.
After four months without a club, Labyad joined FC Utrecht on January 5, 2017 , with whom he received a contract until June 30, 2020.
National team
With the Dutch team Labyad took part in the U-17 World Cup 2009 in Nigeria . He played in all three preliminary round games against Colombia, Gambia and Iran. After just one win out of three games, the Netherlands was eliminated after the group stage.
After playing a few games for the Dutch U-19 national team, Labyad decided in 2010 to play for Morocco , his parents' home country, in the future. In early February 2011 he was appointed to the squad of the Moroccan U-23 national team for the international match against Burkina Faso. On his debut, which Morocco won 3-1, Labyad hit a penalty in the 33rd minute.
In 2012 Labyad took part in the Olympic Games in London for Morocco . He was used in all three preliminary round matches against Honduras, Japan and Spain and also scored a goal in the 2-2 draw against Honduras. Morocco was able to leave the Spaniards behind in the group, but still not making it into the next round while in third place.
