Muammer Guler
Muammer Guler (born March 21, 1949 in Mardin ) is a Turkish politician of the Justice and Recovery Party (AKP).
Life
His father was the postal director Mahmut Muhtar Güler, his mother was named Latife Guler. Guler was the second oldest of six brothers and two sisters. The family left Mardin when he was five years old. Muammer Güler graduated from Ankara University in 1972 with a law degree . Muammer Guler was Deputy Kaymakam in Çal , Kaymakam in Pehlivanköy and Horasan . From 1982 he worked in various functions in the Ministry of the Interior. Later he was governor in Niğde , Kayseri , Gaziantep and Samsun . In 2003 he was governor of Istanbul . Guler was elected to the Turkish Grand National Assembly in 2011 as Mardin MP for the ruling AKP. From January 25, 2013 to December 2013, Guler was the successor of İdris Naim Şahin Interior Minister of Turkey in the government cabinet of Erdogan III . He resigned from his post as Minister of the Interior following the corruption scandal in 2013 .
Guler is married and has two children.
