NGC 3929 is an elliptical galaxy with extensive star formation from Hubble type E in the constellation Leo north of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 314 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 55,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 3940 , NGC 3946 , IC 742 , IC 2968 .
The object was discovered by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest on December 4, 1861 .
