NGC 4141 is a bar-spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is an estimated 89 million light years from the Milky Way and about 35,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of ​​the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 4149 .

The supernovae SN 2008X (Type II) and SN 2009E were observed here.

The object was discovered by William Herschel on April 17, 1789 .
